Our Birds, and Us

We live on a 7 ˝ acre farm with a lovely view of the Columbia River in sunny Hover area of Kennewick, Washington, located on the East side of the state. We love the serene and peaceful life on the farm with our orchards, gardens, ponds, and birds.

Our Doves are loved pets and very well cared for. We spend many hours training and conditioning them. We consider them athletes and give them the best vitamins, daily exercise, and training. The Doves are very clean and love their daily baths. They live in a well maintained, spacious building with access to a large aviary for fresh air and sunshine.

The breed of Doves we use for release are one of the largest breeds of the Dove Family – the White Homing Pigeon - and are the only type of bird that should ever be used in a dove release. Smaller doves are used for display only and would not survive if released.

We are very careful that we never put our birds into harm’s way. Our Doves will not be released during high winds, severe rain, snowstorms, or if we realize they could not return home before dark.

Please consider us for your next event. We will be happy to work with you and would love to hear your ideas and share some of ours to help you create a fabulous event.

Heaven's White Wings is a Proud Member of the NWDRSNwdrs Logo

Please Note:  NWDRS members consider the release of Ringneck Doves to be unethical. Ringneck doves, readily available from pet stores and bird merchants, are not strong fliers, have little homing ability, and no life experiences that would help them survive if released into the wild. Instead, we use the White Homing Pigeon, a close relative and member of the Rock Dove Family.

The American Dove Association has an informative page on their website which addresses the difference between the Ringneck Doves and the White Homing Pigeons. If you would like to read more, please click here:  Dove Release Facts
